Imperial Service Medals For Telford Employees

Eight former West Midlands Civil Servants received one of the UK's highest commendations, the Imperial Service Medal for nearly three hundred years of consolidated meritorious and loyal service to the Ministry of Defence.

Non-managerial civil servants who complete 25 years or more service are eligible for the Imperial Service Medal upon retirement. Archie Hughes, Chief Executive of the Defence Support Group made the presentation recently (20 April) at its Telford site to Ms Marj Biddulph with an outstanding 50 years service, Mrs Margaret Cadman 48 years service, Mrs Veronica Seaby 30 years service, Mrs Janice Ward 31 years service and Mrs Janet Brown 27 ½ years service before a gathering of family members, friends and former colleagues.

Although, unable to attend the presentation, medals were also awarded to Mrs Judith Coomber 41 years service, Mrs Andrea Murray 34 years service and Mr Nigel Newton for 30 years service.

 

Archie Hughes, said, "This is a remarkable achievement and it proves that at the heart of an organisation are its people.  The commitment and loyalty as given by the medal recipients are pivotal to its reputation and success."
